Staff at Maverick Telecommunications donate educational supplies, a large washing machine, and computers to Peace Home
Maverick Telecommunications is giving back to the community by donating a large washing machine, learning supplies including two new computers, educational books, and toys to the children at Peace Home.
Situated in West Coast, Peace Home is a safe haven for children who are victims of abuse. Founded by Aziza Nolan, the home services children from the community and surrounding areas accepting children off the street, or those removed from their homes by police services.
Along with donating learning supplies, the staff at Maverick worked tirelessly to renovate a study room at Peace Home, removing all broken furniture and replacing it with the necessary equipment. The room now features a study corner with a large desk and two computers, as well as a library corner filled with reading material. The room is also fitted with an alphabet carpet, toys and a colouring tables and chairs. Finally, the team donated a large washing machine to assist the team at Peace Home with their laundry needs.
“Our company’s mission is to uplift and inspire by serving. We make connections, make a difference, and deliver products and solutions that enrich lives. Our contribution to Peace Home, reflects the values of our company. We want to make a difference, not only to our clients and customers, but to our broader community as well, and we look forward to continuing to support the children and staff at Peace Home,” said Maverick Director, Giancarlo Bruno.
Maverick staff also assisted the home by cleaning up the garden and spending quality time with the children.
“I am at a loss for words. Where does one start? Thank you for everything you have done for the children of Peace Home and for me personally. I am so overjoyed, that words fail me,” wrote Peace Home Founder, Aziza Nolan, in a thank you letter sent to the Maverick team.
“The past weekend the kids were on the computers the whole time. They looked as if they were busy with huge tech projects. It made me laugh, and was so lovely to see. These computers will help them endlessly and I am so thankful for the interest you showed in our children’s education. The study area that you created for us is truly a blessing. The computer will make such an immense difference, as it will help them with school projects and they will also learn proper computer skills which will only stand them in good stead for the future,” Aziza wrote.
