We were told the heart-warming story of how the home came about and how it has assisted so many abused women and their children to make positive changes in their lives for over 60 years.<\/p>\n
The Maverick team joined forces to help with minor repairs around the house, repainted their Wendy House and cleaned and reorganized the container where they store the donations that they receive.<\/p>\n
The attending Maverick staff were split into teams in order for us to get through the list of items that we set up to assist with and to ensure that everyone contributed to the day.<\/p>\n
Team 1 was in charge of the kitchen and prepared the food for the lunch.<\/p>\n
Team 2, assisted by Franco Bruno, repainted the Wendy House that is used for Sister\u2019s Incorporated monthly sale where they sell clothing to the public to raise additional funds for the house.<\/p>\n
Team 3 was tasked with unpacking, cleaning, installing new shelving and reorganizing the storage container.<\/p>\n
Team 4 made the ladies feel special by giving them hand massages and painting their nails.<\/p>\n
A party table was decorated with party packs for the children that are living at the home with their mothers.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day each of the ladies residing at the home received a small pamper pack to make them feel special.<\/p>\n
